Roses

Roses

Greenhouse from rain.

Red as bright
Thus blind in your trick,
Rouge as tempting
But part of your game.

Though I tend to cross
The fence of blossom and dew,
Yet with thorns to my vein,
I've entered a garden,
With silent songs of dawning autumn.

Intruder am I,
How I've breached, a crack,
Wishing to sweep all chips of the past.
Once it spans a field of comfort
Easing your passion,
But now has vanished
Without a sigh…
And a simple desire is left
To close the gate of secrets,
With a key that can isolate a world
Far beyond the fences.

But tempest!
Tracing my path,
Should all roses condemn my name.
How I soaked a dark, chilling room,
While I retrieved for you
A page,
Shaded under red and orange leaves:
Remembering grasses once soft
As feathered pillows in touch,
Wools of warmth
Which paved a carpet
Of memories
Since pleasure and pain,
Memories
Linking fingers as chains…
But spring now cast away
And left,
Away…

I can see,
How you desire
Freedom, so all weathers
Might entangle once more
The strong, proud lily as tender and clear.
A garden can revive, when birds once again
Bring life, yes, life as rain and shine,
By caring touch of a goddesses hand
That gray as death be dispelled from the gardener's mind…
But oh frail fence of roses!
How it weaves its defense…
It did not shatter
It did not wither…
Clean glass as shields
Can be seen between peddles and spike…
Oh strong roses of autumn!
Your thorn still carves a bleeding line
Your smile still guards the sprinkler of night…
The tiny crack binds again once more,
Birds of rhythm squeezed in a cage
That warns all weather to back away…
How I desired to understand, distanced from the world,
The story
Before colors were torn
From your fragile garden of confidence…

Thus a delicate dress
Drenched in song of autumn.
Though still clean in shimmer,
Cannot hide in secret
A tale of sorrow,
And retreat.
