這就是 Book I 主人翁 Redcrosse Knight 在 Canto 7 誤飲的泉水。
成因是這泉水的 nymph 在其他人打獵時獨自休息，得罪 Phoebe (Diana)：

   Thenceforth her waters wexed dull and slow,
 And all that drinke thereof, do faint and feeble grow.  - FQ I.7.5 (Hamilton)

Redcrosse Knight 飲後不久就遭遇到巨人 Orgoglio ("An hideous Geaunt", 8)，全身
無力，只有束手就擒，給抓走監禁於一城堡中。 把他救出來的人就是 Prince Arthure.


這句話的意思，以整本仙后來看，也就是說，許多夢幻、令人鬆弛的的場景可能也常常
危機四伏、大意不得。這部羅曼史詩的諸多細節絕也不單純，值得探討。

這樣有概念了嗎？
