There is beauty all around us
The kinds that please the eye
But more important is that
Which lifts the heart and makes it sing

And though I have seen
So many spring times come and go
Still my heart yearned for just a gentle touch
Loving words of sweet affection.

And I have learned through all these years
that Friends will keep you sane,
That Love can fill your heart, and warm your bed
But lonely is the soul without its true mate.

Long have I dreamt that I might find
The spark of life to light my inner fire
To set my lonely soul ablaze
And fill my life with affections warmth.

And you, my love, came like a torch bearer
To ignite long dormant dreams
That I thought dead and gone
And brought them back to live again.

Now, on even the coldest nights
When I fear even the moon has deserted my sky
The thoughts of you within my heart
Paint rainbows in my dreams.
