[Dining Solo] A Villanelle written at a dining table after reading Michael Kaminer and A LaBan's "Table for One, Chicago: The Solo Diner's Restaurant Guide". Dining solo in a restaurant is no trouble So many solitary visitors and professionals Must ask for a table only for a single You may be shoved into a communal table Or fawned over by waiters but later treated like a noble Dining solo in a restaurant is not so horrible It is better to sit near a window You can ask a hotel concierge to make the phone call To reserve a terrific table only for a single If a lousy corner makes you uncomfortable Complaints may save you from the place abysmal Dining solo is surely not unrespectable When dining with an i-phone or something else digital Don't forget to turn off all the whistles And enjoy a table without bothering other people Don't rush when you enjoy your meal No one can take your place not even a newly-wed couple Dining solo is surely not lonely and painful Just go and take (for granted) a table for a single -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 71.57.71.75 ※ 編輯: kamadevas 來自: 71.57.71.75 (10/24 13:56)
