[分享] 如何請之前的美國教授幫自己寫推薦信

剛有很多板友寫信問，一開始應該要怎麼起頭，我把我申請法博 J.D.時，如何請以前
法碩 (LL.M.)的教授寫推薦信的 email 附上，希望對大家有幫助。另外由於背景不同，
跟教授熟稔程度亦因人而異，請記得依自身情況進行適當修改。

Dear Professor [ ]:


I hope this email finds you well and that you are enjoying the view of early
fall along Charles River. I'm sure you won't miss it.

My name is [ ], one of your [ ] students in 2009. I am writing to ask if you
would be willing, time permitting, to write a letter of recommendation for me
for my application to [ ]. The [ ] application will start from [Date] and
the deadline to submit the recommendation letter is [ ].

During my [ ] year, your Antitrust Law and International Competition Law
Research seminar were on my favorites list, which I received A and A+
respectively. ( please see the attachment). Specifically, I’d like to thank
you for being a mentor in the seminar to encourage me to finish my first
thesis in the U.S. In fact, your seminar also hugely contributed to my later
career development, which benefited me in accomplishing a 3-year
government-funded research project regarding industrial standard setting and
antitrust issues.

Through our conversations and my participation in your seminar, I believe your
observation of my attitude and dedication in this field can assist the
admission committee of [ ] to evaluate my  application. This is why I wanted
to ask you first for a letter.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I am not sure when my
next trip to Boston will be. I hope that we will get a chance to meet for
coffee or tea if you are available. If you are willing to write a
recommendation letter for me, please let me know so that I can send you
further information. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
