看到這篇不得不提到1996 Caltech Chemistry 教授Erick Carreira
寫給他博後 Guido Koch 的信以及中研院院士, HMMI President Robert Tjian
給他柏克萊實驗室的memo.... ( http://tinyurl.com/2c2a3tq )
尤其是錢澤南教授的memo 裡面有提到vacation time:
"...if you haven't noticed the number of people working on weekends
and nights in the lab is the worst I've seen in my 17 years.
The frequency of vacation, time taken off and other non-lab
activities is bordering on the ridiculous."


這裡提到vacation time:
"In case you forgot, the standard amount of time you are supposed to
take is 2 weeks a year total, including Christmas..."
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

最後:
"I realize that this memo won't solve all the problems. so I am going
to schedule a meeting with each one of you starting this Saturday and
Sunday and continuing on weekends"


當然放多久是因PI 而異, 但這兩篇古文就參考一下....

→ lingon:喔對,有些地方博後規定的vacation time 是一年五天...
→ lingon:但這也是用來參考用...(雖然有遇過老闆堅持就是五天...)
推 shch:XD 我去年Xmas自動從12/23放假到1/3 看來是我皮在癢
推 boblu:真的是看文化啦 這樣的 memo 稍稍換一個差不太多的時空背景
