新北國中104年英文考題的閱讀第38

(A) 38.What can be inferred from this passage?
       (A) Joseph Mitchell enjoyed the early career as a reporter. (出題少打a)
       (B) His writings received little acclaim, from others.
       (C) He was a very productive reporter.
       (D) He enjoyed his life in New York.

標準答案給的是(A)，但是文章的第八行有提到"Once a newspaperman
filing many articles a week, Mitchell started taking months...."
我的理解是，Mitchell一開始不管是因為工作需要，或是自己喜歡，他的報導產量
是很多的，所以(C)選項是正確的。

反觀(A)選項可能會有爭議，因為雖然4-5行的敘述可以支持答案(A)，
但是作者在後面也有提到，"'hoofing after dime-a-dozen murders.'
The young writer could be jaunty and jokey." 我覺得這邊反而是一個反轉，
弦外之音暗示早期為了報導，有些工作或寫作並不一定是Mitchel所享受的。
這也是為什麼，等Mitchell在報界有了資歷和地位後(後期)，
不再是一位多產的記者，反而更有時間經營他自己想做的報導和故事，
這樣Mitchell反而是享受後期的career as a reporter，而非早期。

不知道有沒有人跟我的理解和思考邏輯是一樣的，所以選(C)而不是(A)？
