Brett Anderson appears on tonight's television broadcast of the
2001 Technics Mercury Music Prize.
The awards ceremony is presented by Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball. As
a previous winner, Brett will offer his views on some of this
year's nominees, who include Basement Jaxx, PJ Harvey, Radiohead,
Super Furry Animals and Zero 7.
Suede won the award in 1993 for their eponymous debut LP and
immediately donated the prize money to charity. They were also
nominated for 1996's Coming Up.
The Technics Mercury Prize awards is broadcast this evening on
Channel 4 at 11.00pm.
