Here is the review of 'This Is...' in the November 2001 issue of the British Q Magazine. Brett Anderson guests on the fifth album from introspective Swedish singer-songwriter. The Suede singer appears on two songs here, adding FX-clipped vocals to the stark electro-funk of Trainsurfing and a chorus on Keen Yellow Planet - like Suede gorgeously dissolving between David Bowie and Strawberry Fields. Perhaps a new sense of fun has arrived in Nordenstam's world, one previously characterised by a haunting, Moomin-child voice singing of murder, suicide, terrorism and emotional desolation. The melancholy Everyone Else In The World is still sombre, but now there's a wry tone behind the still, stately arrangements and textural machine clanks - one that echoes good old Morrissey's gloriously contradictory brand of anthemic dejection.
