Suede played their first gig for almost exactly a year this Saturday (27th October). The band played to more than 5,000 enthusiastic fans at the Festa das Latas at Coimbra University sports pavillion in Portugal. Unlike their previous concert at the Iceland Airwaves festival last October where the band introduced nine new songs, Saturday's show was very much a greatest hits affair. The set comprised eleven singles, one album track and only two new numbers. The show marked the official debut of new member Alex Lee who replaced Neil Codling earlier this year. Of the new material, Beautiful Loser, co-written by Lee had already been debuted at Iceland, while Positivity, described by Anderson as one of the best songs the band has ever written, was unveiled for the first time. The band's set was preceded by an instrumental version of another new song, Simon, from the soundtrack of the forthcoming CS Leigh film, Far From China. The full version of Simon is included on the band's new DVD, Lost In TV, due for release at the end of next month. Fans writing on the message board of the band's official website, suede.net, have described Saturday's show as, "Simply brilliant! In front of a crowd with fans and non fans, they achieved to conquer all, with their stage electricity." setlist: can't get enough trash metal mickey animal nitrate filmstar the wild ones everything will flow beautiful ones she so young beautiful loser she's in fashion encore: positivity saturday night -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 140.123.212.37
