There's a short interview with Mat in this week's NME which goes a bit like this: 01. What can we expect from the new suede album? It's a very heartfelt record. It's much warmer and simpler than the last one. The songwriting is classic suede but the sentiment of it is much more up than anything we've done for a long time. The last four years we usually only got about six months of pleasure at a time before something went horribly wrong. The whole thing with Neil leaving was horrible. We've cleaned up our act and sorted ourselves out a little bit. We were a bit of a mess doing the last record but I don't think that's true at the moment. 02. Will there be less beautiful trash running with dogs under nuclear skies on a saturday night this time round? There's a couple of songs that don't sound, lyrically, like anything we've done before. It's much more romantic. There's a lot of yearning and it's quite an angry record and much more inclusive - it's about the people we are and the people around us. 03. Have you made the best album of 2002? We've definitely made the best suede album of 2002. (source: David Barnett, SIS, 1/9/2001) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.twbbs.org) ◆ From: 140.123.212.37
