[請益] not only...but also...

大家好~

初為人師的我，常常在教學時遇到"盲點"

前幾天有個超好學的學生問我:

Tom studies English not only because he has exams to take but also because he loves this subject.

可不可以改成:
Tome studies English because not only he as exams to take but also he loves this subject.


我想破頭實在找不出解釋的理由，但總覺得就是不對啊!!!

所以想懇求各問前輩指教~感謝您^^
