我讀到的好像跟你翻出來的有一段差距。我在這裡提供我的譯文和大家討論。

一開始，他是為了捕食而這麼做。

: Separated from the pond by his boat, he only communicates with its life '

船將他與湖分開，他與湖的生命間僅「靠一條長麻繩」聯繫著。

: drift to and fro in the darkness, this movement is circumscribed because the
: boat is anchored.
: 雖然藉由讓他的船在晚間來回的漂盪,他讓自己看來好像支配著大自然的力量,但這種

雖然讓船在黑暗中來回漂盪讓他看似臣服於大自然的力量下，但因為船下了錨，其移
動是受到限制的。

: Not only is Thoreau physically separated from the body of
: the pond, but he is also abstracted from the life of his own body.
: 梭羅不只是身體上與湖體有所區隔,他也從他自身的生命中萃取
: 出一些思想.

梭羅不光是肉體與湖分離，他也從自身肉體的生命中抽離。

: He describes his thoughts transcending his physical being and wandering 'to
: vast cosmogonal themes in other spheres'(175) and needs the jerk of the
: captured fish, struggling vainly to escape death at his hands, to link him
: up  to Nature again.
: 他描寫他的思想如何從肉體的存在超脫而出,而後"倘徉在其他的星球及廣闊
: 浩瀚的宇宙進化主題之上",需要被釣住的魚將他猛然拉回,而他手上那些魚徒勞的使勁掙
: 扎不想死想逃脫的動作,再度將他與大自然連結在一起.

他描述自己的思緒超脫了肉體，漫遊在「和其他星球有關的眾多宇宙進化議題裡」，得
靠釣上的魚死前徒勞的猛力掙扎才能讓他與大自然再次產生聯繫。

推 pondera:欸 我翻之前有看梭羅湖濱散記 湖(pond)這一篇
推 TheRock:有看過相關參考資料很好啊，但不表示翻譯的就會較正確喔。
→ TheRock:個人覺得我們對原文語意的認知有不少差異，請大家討論囉。
推 egghead:我絕得絕地任務大理解的跟原PO一樣 只是國文程度也別導致
推 egghead:有別 以及翻譯經驗上或許有些差距導致看起來有差距
推 caroleena:其實原po理解大致上是對的啦 只是中文有點歐化的的感覺

推 TheRock:非也，我與原PO在文意理解上有極大差異，詳參下篇回文。
→ pondera:其實我也覺得我有歐化的危險 不過卻不會分別
推 karenbabe:原po的理解事實上有些有誤，不只是歐化中文的問題。
