今年面試改為MMI 以下是招募信 內有簡單介紹 To All Student Veterinarians: Dear Colleagues - This note is a follow-up to my previous message to invite you to participate in the admission interviews for the DVM class to be admitted this coming fall. The interviews will be held in the week of May 17, 2010. This will be our first use of the new Multiple Mini-Interview tool for selection of incoming students. The MMI is a series of short, structured interview stations (8 in our case) through which candidates rotate. At each station they will be presented with a scenario to which they must react and explain their interpretation of the scenario to an assessor or assessors who then mark the student based on a scoring rubric. The assessors will be in teams of two, with probably one faculty member and one student veterinarian in each team. The MMI is an interview process primarily structured around assessing applicants' attitudes and behaviours, not knowledge per se. Our scenarios will evaluate factors such as Ethical Behaviour, Empathy, Judgement, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal Management Skills, and Communications Skills. Dr. Kent Hecker from the University of Calgary is assisting us with the development and implementation of the MMI process. He will provide training opportunities for all assessors during his visit to OVC on May 12, 13, and 14. We will let you know as soon as possible when those sessions will be held. Attendance at a training session is mandatory for all assessors. We are still in need of student veterinarian assessors so, if you have not already done so, please let Lynn Rumig (lrumig@ovc.uoguelph.ca; ext 54422) know if you are able to participate. The days will be structured in half-day blocks. Thanks very much for your help.
