   The superagent Alex Rodriguez fired from negotiating his $275 million
   Yankees contract has stepped back into the slugger's life to help arrange
   a truce between him and his estranged wife, a source said Sunday.

   Scott Boras met with the feuding couple Saturday in Toronto, where the
   Bombers were playing the Blue Jays, the source told the Daily News.

   "Boras has inserted himself in the equation," the source said.

   Cynthia Rodriguez had taken the couple's 3-year-old daughter, Natasha, to
   Toronto so that A-Rod could see her.

   It was the first time A-Rod and his wife had come face-to-face since she
   filed for divorce in Miami, citing his "long period of infidelity."

   The source said Boras "may have" also met alone with Cynthia Rodriguez, who
   gave birth to A-Rod's second daughter just 12 weeks ago. Boras could not be
   reached for comment Sunday night.

   It was unclear if Boras is trying to help the couple hash out a quick
   divorce settlement or to get them to tone down the public discourse between them.
   Boras' resurrection in A-Rod's life comes nine months after the reigning
   American League MVP canned him. A-Rod, 32, was reportedly angry at Boras for
   leaking news during the World Series that he was opting out of his Yankees'
   contract. The move left Yankees brass seething and refusing to negotiate
   with Rodriguez as long as Boras was his agent.

   Without him, Rodriguez negotiated a 10-year, $275 million contract with the
   Yankees. Rodriguez later hired Madonna's manager Guy Oseary to work for him.

   Now, Yankees officials are apparently welcoming Boras' help in getting Alex
   and Cynthia to be more discreet.

   "He [Boras] seems to be there with the blessing of the Yankees' front office,
   which is ironic, considering that Boras held up George Steinbrenner for
   millions," the source said. "But apparently the front office welcomes anyone
   who can get A-Rod's mind back onto baseball."

   Cynthia Rodriguez's friends have publicly said Madonna was using kabbalah to
   brainwash A-Rod into believing they are "soul mates." A-Rod's pals claimed
   Cynthia bolted to rocker Lenny Kravitz's apartment in Paris and went on a
   spiteful spending spree.

   Madonna, 49, has adamantly denied having an affair with A-Rod, and Kravitz
   said Cynthia Rodriguez was a close friend who was using his apartment to
   clear her head.

   The couple signed a prenup before they wed in 2002, but experts contend
   Cynthia Rodriguez stands to collect at least half of her husband's vast
   baseball and commercial endorsement fortune.
