Alex Rodriguez was just looking to survive. He ultimately hit a game-tying, two
-run homer to set the stage for Melky Cabrera's game-winning single, but
Rodriguez swore he had "Survivor" over "Hero" in mind.

"I'm just going up there to survive," Rodriguez said in the wake of his seventh
homer, a bottom of the ninth, full-count blast that propelled a three-run rally
in the Yanks' 5-4 win over the Phillies at Yankee Stadium yesterday.
A-Rod 的全壘打帶動了九局下半的攻勢，最後洋基以 5-4 擊敗費城人


And the shot went the opposite way.
然後那是一支反方向的全壘打


"That's when he's at his greatest because he's still going to pull the ball to
hit home runs," manager Joe Girardi said.
Girardi：這就是 A-Rod 最有價值的地方。


But Rodriguez insisted, right field, left field straight away was not on his
mind against Brad Lidge.
但 A-Rod 堅持他在面對力矩的時候，腦袋裡根本沒在想左外野還右外野這回事


"I'm not trying to guide the ball. I haven't had too many at-bats this year. I
'm looking for a good pitch to hit and hit it. Right now, I'm probably the
happiest .200 hitter in baseball," said Rodriguez, who nudged his average to
.204.
