While Fiorentina continue negotiations for Arsenal's Freddie Ljungberg, they
confirm that Fabio Liverani will stay after all.
The former Lazio midfielder had been on the verge of walking out this summer
after finding he no longer fit into the tactical landscape following Luca
Toni's move to Bayern Munich.
「We are not planning on signing a midfield creator, because Liverani has
accepted the change of system decided by Coach Cesare Prandelli and therefore
will remain in Florence,」 revealed transfer guru Pantaleo Corvino.
Corvino is currently in London for advanced negotiations with Arsenal for
veteran Swede Ljungberg.
There are rumours that Valeri Bojinov has been offered as part of the deal,
said to be worth a total of ￡5.5m.
Bulgarian hitman Bojinov has been nothing but trouble since he arrived from
Lecce, arguing with club officials and flopping on his loan spell at Juventus.
It is reported that Fiorentina have offered Ljungberg a four-year contract
worth ￡1.5m per season, but the wages will be topped up by a series of
sponsorship and modelling deals.
