According to the latest transfer speculation from Italy, Fiorentina and
Palermo are contemplating a deal that would see unsettled Viola striker
Valeri Bojinov head to the Stadio Renzo Barbera in exchange for up and coming
Uruguay striker Edison Cavani.
Fiorentina lost their patience with Bojinov and placed him on the transfer
list, after the talented but temperamental Bulgarian forward refused a
two-year contract extension offered to him, compounding doubts that they
already had over his professionalism and commitment to the cause.
Cavani, in the meanwhile, has seen his own stock raised dramatically in
recent months, thanks to a strong showing for Uruguay during the U-20 World
Cup, which built on the plaudits he received for two very special goals
during his debut season for the Rosanero.
