Fiorentina are looking for a potential new goalkeeper should Sebastien Frey
opt to move on at the end of the season.
Although the Frenchman has insisted that he's happy with the Viola, rumours
of a possible move to Milan continue to circulate.
Fiorentina admitted earlier this season that they wouldn't stand in Frey's
way should he opt for a fresh challenge and the club are already taking steps
to replace him should that need occur.
The Tuscan outfit's search for a shot-stopper has taken them to Brazil – a
nation who already provide Milan, Inter and Roma with custodians.
Gremio youngster Grohe, just 21, is liked and the club are also monitoring
the 23-year-old Cruzeiro shot-stopper Flavio. The pair are valued at ￡5m and
￡3.5m respectively.
Nevertheless, sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is also understood to be
evaluating an offer for Brescia's Emiliano Viviano.
The Under-21 international is rated by a host of top clubs and Viviano has
made it clear that he wouldn't think twice about a Franchi future.
「Fiorentina? I wouldn't just walk there to complete the move, I'd do so
naked,」 he recently noted. 「I hope to realise this dream soon as I have
been a Viola fan for some time.」
