Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle insists that he can convince Adrian
Mutu to stay on at the club.
The Romanian striker has been linked with a move to several clubs including
Bundesliga side Schalke. Reports in Italy have claimed that Mutu is not happy
with what the club have offered him and he is demanding an increase in his
salary or he will move elsewhere.
Della Valle doesn't seem too worried and he reveals that Mutu won't sniff at
what is offered on his silver plate and he hopes the player stays on to crack
a few more goals next season.
「I am optimistic over Mutu's stay here in Florence,」 said Della Valle.
「We will not be taking a hard line over him, when he comes back from the
Euro's we will meet him and I believe that only two words are necessary
between Corvino and the player to be able to secure his future.
「The club's relationship with Adrian has always been excellent and the club
has always tried to keep him happy as he flies the flag for Fiorentina.」
Cesare Prandelli is currently strengthening his side ahead of next season's
Champions League and Mutu is vital to the team's chances of success if they
attempt to go far in that competition.
