Getafe defender Alexis Ruano is reported to have rejected a move to Italian
outfit Fiorentina.
The 21-year-old centre back joined Getafe last summer from Malaga and has
proved a revelation in La Liga this term.
He is one of the main reasons that Bernd Schuster's side have the best
defensive record in the Spanish top-flight, having conceded a miserly 17
goals in 25 games.
The youngster's performances have not gone unnoticed in Spain, or across
Europe, with Real Madrid and Milan amongst the teams following his progress.
But it is Fiorentina who are understood to have made an official offer for
Alexis, agreeing to pay the €8 million (￡5 million) stipulated as his
release fee.
However, while Getafe had no choice but to accept the offer, the player
himself has turned down the move, insisting he would prefer to stay in Spain
for the time being.
