Fiorentina are hoping to sign Ternana's Luis Jimenez in January.

The 21-year-old is considered one of the brightest talents currently playing
outside Serie A, and coach Cesare Prandelli (pictured) has requested of the
Viola board that they can at least acquire joint-ownership of the Chilean
midfielder.

Jimenez is contracted to Ternana until 2007, although Fiorentina are
preparing a €4 million (￡2,750,000) bid aimed at luring him to Florence.

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is understood to have already
begun negotiations over a deal, with the ball currently in the court of the
