After missing out on Nemanja Vidic, Fiorentina are reportedly considering a
January move for Inter defender Marco Materazzi.

Despite indicating that he would rather play football in Italy than in
England, Vidic chose to snub the Viola and signed for Manchester United,
leaving Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino to look elsewhere.

Although they previously insisted they would take the case to FIFA after
believing that Vidic was already their player, Fiorentina have now decided
against taking any action.

Corvino previously spoke to Materazzi last summer, but after Walter Samuel
picked up a ban Inter could not afford to let the 32-year-old stopper leave.

Now however, the move seems to benefit both sides. Materazzi is currently
sidelined with a knee injury and will be out of action until February.

In the meantime Walter Samuel and Ivan Cordoba have formed a solid
partnership at the heart of the Inter defence. The ex-Everton man would be
