Udinese and Fiorentina are interested in signing Charlton’s out-of-favour
striker Jay Bothroyd, according to English media reports.

Udinese Coach Serse Cosmi is a huge fan of Bothroyd, who played under the
Umbrian tactician during his final season at Perugia in 2003-2004.

The former Arsenal forward scored five goals in 26 games for the erstwhile
Serie A outfit and Cosmi feels he could become a natural successor to David
Di Michele at the Stadio Friuli.

Fiorentina are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old former Coventry
frontman - who could step into the self-enforced void that has been left by

Bothroyd returned to Charlton in the summer after an 18-month loan spell with
Blackburn Rovers, but has found himself a long way down in the pecking order
