MILAN - Coach assistant Mauro Tassotti revealed Tuttosport the secrets of Milan
back line.

NESTA IS THE IRON DEFENCE
'All players cooperate very well on the pitch. The arrival of Nesta, the best av
ailable in his role, helped very much. As for Paolo Maldini, there are no more w
ords to praise him. He can be compared to good wine: he has improved with aging.
 Billy is the best revelation of this year. He has such a wide experience that w
e can play him successfully in every position. Simic and Kaladze have noone who
can deputize for them, that's why they have overworked.'

MILANELLO - Alessandro Nesta speaks to the journalists at this afternoon's press
 conference. 'Now I'm very well,' the Roma-born defender says. 'I have overcome
the difficult situation and I realize I can give it my best shot for this team.
If I had to analyse my season, I would split it into two parts: a first negative
spell and a second one in which things have improved very much.'

MILANELLO - After focusing on his physical condition, Alessandro Nesta speaks ab
out Milan back line:'At present we are very good defensively, as Alessandro Cost
acurta remarked. It's the best thing we have been able recently. Of course, when
 you can count on key men in midfield, everything is easier also for the defende
rs: we don't receive bad passes and can stop the opponents. Our back like have i
mproved a lot thanks to the good work of some players who make sacrifice for the

st need winning the important clashes to claim the Scudetto,' Alessandro Nesta c
ontinues. 'You must beat the big and the small sides. It's not bound that leader
s defeat strugglers. I hope Atalanta will play openly on Sunday to have a lively
 match and try to win. We expect a series of games which recalls the one in whic
h we most suffered. As for the big clash between equally-competitive Juventus an
d Inter, I hope it will end in a draw because if we want to win the title we mus
t gain ground on both of them.'
