MILANELLO - Alessandro Nesta talks about his moment at Milan,
speaking to the Milan Channel. He said: 'I feel at ease at the club,
but to be considered a standard-bearer I still have much to do. I
always try to do my job in the best way, of course the good results
the team has achieved have helped my adapting. I've recovered from
the injury, on Sunday we'll see if I'm able to be in.'
'Nesta is the deserving heir of our Immortals'
MILAN - Alessandro Nesta revealed he would like to end his career
with Milan in an exclusive interview with the Milan Channel last
week. Chief executive Adriano Galliani answered the Rossonero
defender in an interview with 'Gazzetta dello Sport'. He
said: 'Would he like to end his career with the Rossoneri? We would
like the same thing. Now Nesta has a contract with the club until
2008, which is the maximum allowed. Well, the only I can do is to
extend it to him year by year, I don't think there will be problems
in the next seasons. I'm happy about this statement because Nesta is
a star and we wouldn't have found a better player and a more
respectable boy to introduce in our defence. Nesta is the deserving
heir of our Immortals, [Mauro] Tassotti, [Alessandro] Costacurta,
[Filippo] Galli, [Franco] Baresi and [Paolo] Maldini. A back line of
fantastic stars and Nesta is following in their footsteps. Because
this is Milan: the relationship between our players and the club
colours is fundamental.'
