TOGNACCINI ON SANDRO NESTA AND SHEVCHENKO

MILAN - Daniele Tognaccini reassured the fans on the physical condition of the s
ide and spoke first about Alessandro Nesta and said: 'Sandro is working hard in
training every day. He is doing well now after the injury and is on the road to
recovery. We are working to get him in shape for the run-in, totally in tune wit
h the programme step up by the Milan Lab as is everyone else. I have heard it sa
id that Nesta would not work under the Milan Lab and that he has done less tests
 but like his team-mates he has followed them all up until now.'
From Nesta to Andriy Shevchenko and Tognaccini recounted a curious fact coming f
rom the striker's header against Chievo and said: 'There is a test called 'verti
cal jump' to measure the leap. Sheva can jump 60 centimetres, at the beginning i
t was 50cms.'

LIGHT SESSION FOR NESTA AND KALADZE

MILANELLO - Alessandro Nesta and Kakhaber Kaladze met at about 12.30pm CET at th
e Carnago's complex to undergo a light session. The Rossonero pair, still on the
ir recovery way, started training in the gym before heading onto the pitch behin
d it. Kakadze did some running while Nesta had sprints to improve speed. The hal
f-back finished working with the ball on the technical side of the game.

NESTA: 'I hope I'll return against Modena on Sunday'

MILANELLO - Alessandro Nesta, who called back to the Carnago's complex for train
ing today, spoke about his physical conditions and the possibility to recover in
 time for Sunday's game between Milan and Modena. He told Milan Channel: 'I feel
 almost good, I hope I can return to competitive action on Sunday. Tomorrow I wi
ll undergo a scan to check the situation, then from Wednesday I should be able t
o train with the team-mates.'
Sandro also dismissed the rumours that he has also had other treatment apart fro
m Milan Lab. He said: 'I've always been treated here like all my team-mates, I w
as just unlucky to get injured more than the others.'
A comment upon the draw with Chievo and the rest of the season: 'On Sunday we al
most suffered a setback, but I think it is quite normal after many games with th
e same players. In defence the coach was forced to make some choices, now I hope
 to return to make someone else rest. In the next games we must try to draw the
sums and clinch some important results. It is a delicate moment, it is up to us
to re-open or close the title race.'
Last word about a possible return of Paolo Maldini to the National team. He said
: 'Paolo knows very well that we would be glad to have him back because he is im
portant for us. The final decision is up to him, nobody can choose better than h
im.'
