Nesta Wants Milan To Sign Stam
06/06/2003. AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta believes the Rossonero
management should sign Jaap Stam from the Italy international's former team
SS Lazio.
"Stam is an excellent player. I hope he joins us, and if this doesn't happen,
it would be great if he goes abroad, because whoever signs him will make a
great buy," said Nesta.
The European Champion also expressed satisfaction for the signing of Cafu,
even though he wants to wait for the club to officially confirm the news.
"Did he really sign with us? If this happened, good," he told reporters with
a smile.
More serious was his answer when he was asked about David Beckham joining the
Rossoneri.
"There isn't a lot of money around. The decision is up to our management. For
me it's enough to play in a team filled with champions like Milan is right now."
