MILANELLO - During the press conference Alessandro Nesta was asked
about the disparity between the Milanese sides and Juventus in the
players called-up to Italy. He said: 'I haven't noticed this fact.
However, I believe it is right to figure for the National side,
though in friendlies. Of course those who always play for their clubs
find it difficult to join the Azzurri in every game, it is almost
impossible. Those who had injury problems did well to overcome them.
For instance, I only played against Poland, then I needed a rest and
went home, but without problem. I don't believe Juventus were
favoured by the call-ups'.
About Milan's rotation he added: '[Martin]Laursen has recovered,
Billy [Costacurta] fells fine, we can also rotate in the back line at
Milan. It's important to do it not only in the National team, but
also with the club. Sometimes you are forced to do it: for instance I
will be out due to ban in Amsterdam and I really regret it. It would
have been a special game.'
