RUI COSTA: 'The praise has given me more courage'

Rui:"讚美讓我獲得更多的勇氣"
MILAN - After the good impression he made in the playmaker role in front of
the defence, Manuel Rui Costa received compliments from Milan president Silvio
Berlusconi, Carlo Ancelotti and capitain Paolo Maldini. The Portuguese star, sp
-eaking to the Milan Channel, thanked them: 'I am pleased with the compliments,
above all because we are at the start of the season and it's the first time I
have played in an important game in a role that is new to me. The praise has gi
-ven me more courage to get to know the role Andrea [Pirlo] plays. I am looking
only to give the side the right balance during his absence.'
Rui在後腰位置的良好表現讓上至貝總,加禿,下至馬隊都給予其絕佳的讚美,而接受Milan
Channel訪問的Rui也透過麥克風向他們表達感謝:"對於這些來自高層與隊長的讚美我感到
很高興,畢竟這是我們新賽季的第一場重要比賽,同時也是我在新位置上的第一場正式演出.
所以這些鼓勵讓我有了更多的勇氣去瞭解過去小洛是如何扮演這個角色,並試圖在小洛還沒
回來的這段期間中維持全隊攻守的平衡."
Rui explained how he has come to interpret the new role so well:'I think that
I have the advantage that I have played further forward, I know what they want
in terms of service. The most difficult thing is the defensive phase, but the
team has helped a lot. The defence is supported by [Massimo] Ambrosini and [Rin
-o] Gattuso as well, as does Kaka. Everyone lends a hand, I look to play as sim
-ply as possible which is the best way in general.'
接著Rui談到自己是如何成功詮釋這個新角色:"我瞭解自己過去在靠近前鋒位置上所擁有
的經驗與優勢,知道前鋒們需要的幫助是什麼,唯一困難的是防守方面的經驗與技巧,但在這
方面隊友們給了我很多的幫助,安布跟加加還有卡卡都給予我防守上的幫忙,所以我只需盡
力讓自己展現原本在舊位置上所擁有的好表現."
Rui Costa was also pleased to win the first trophy of the season, the League
Super Cup which was lost on penalties last year: 'We didn't want to lose two fi
-nals in a row! It was a very important success for us, the team is still not
on top form but have the right mentality. A spirit to win, these are the same
characteristics we have had in the last two years and we have not lost that. It
's important for us to continue to work, knowing that we will find difficult mo
-ments during the season but also knowing that we have the strongest team in th
-e world.'
最後Rui當然也很高興隊伍贏得本賽季的第一個獎盃,即為去年在PK戰飲恨的義大利超級
杯:"我們不想在一年後又再度失去同樣的獎盃!所以這個勝利對我們來說相當重要,除了因
為我們目前還未屬於最佳狀態之外,最主要的原因是讓我們瞭解到我們沒有失去在過去兩年
裡獲得重要榮譽所需必備的關鍵心理特質.另一方面也讓我們瞭解到未來一年的賽季必定會
有更艱苦的時刻,而這個時候所需要的便是繼續努力,並擁有知道自己是世界上最強球隊的
堅強信念."
