RUI COSTA ON MILAN CHANNEL 02/10/2004
Manuel Rui Costa was a guest of the Milan Channel's Friday evening show and
talked about what is has been like to play for Milan since joining the Italian
champions back in the summer of 2001. The Portuguese star started with a word
for the fans on what it felt to get on the scoresheet: 'When I have scored I
run to the fans to thank them for supporting me, it was a long time coming and
I knew it was in the air and I really wanted to thank everyone.'
上週五晚上Rui擔任Milan Channel的特別嘉賓，並在節目中聊聊自己從01年夏天加入米
蘭之後的一些感覺。首先他提到去年當他終於破除兩年的進球荒之時所感受到球迷對他的
支持：「當我跑到觀眾面前感謝他們時，有一種這一刻終於來臨的喜悅感與舒暢感，同時
也要感謝每個人對我的支持！」
Turning to his team-mates: 'I have also scored for them. The best part is not
when the ball enters the net, but the celebrations which give you a real lift.
There is plenty of space for sentiment in this Milan side: I remember the free-
kick against Perugia, Pirlo set the ball down but I felt I could score and Andr
-ea was happy to leave me to it, saying: 'Ok, now score.' And then on to the
club: 'When I scored at EURO 2004, Adriano Galliani called to congratulate me
and reassure me about the transfer rumours. He would say: 'Manuel, you are not
leaving here.'
「其實那個進球也要獻給我的隊友們，真正高興的時刻不是進球的那一瞬間，而是與大
家一起慶祝的美好時刻。在米蘭這個團隊裡大家的感情非常好，我還記得對Perugia的那場
比賽，當小洛已經把球放好準備踢自由球時，是我感覺到自己一定會踢進且告訴他這個預
感之後，小洛便相當開心的讓我主罰那個自由球。而俱樂部對我的支持也令我非常感動，
當我在歐錦賽踢進一球時，加禿馬上致電恭喜我，並向我保證所有轉會市場上的謠言決不
會成真，他還說：『Manuel，你決不會離開這裡的！』」
What is the most particular thing that marks out Manuel? 'To be appreciated
for who I am, as a play and a man. This happens when you behave in such a way,
and above all,in football where sometimes drastic action has to be taken on the
pitch. The most difficult thing in my life was retiring from the national side.
I had taken the decision whatever the outcome of the European Championships and
it has cost me dearly.'
最讓Rui印象深刻且高興的事情是什麼？「以一個球員與男人的身份感受到人們對我的尊
敬！其實在足球場上很多事都可能發生，無論是開心抑或難過的部分，而這一生中，對我
而言最難過的事情就是退出國家隊的決定，這項決定是早在歐錦決賽之前，無論結果將會
如何就早已做好的決定。」
The midfielder has received plenty of goodwill messages from the subscribers
for how much he has sacrificed for the team and Rui had some kind words for his
rival in the team, Kaka: 'It's beautiful that a lad of 22 askes me for advice
when I am on the bench.' It is hardly surprising then that the club and fans
would echo the words of chief executive Adriano Galliani: 'Manuel, you are not
leaving here.'
最後Rui也收到許多球迷對他的祝福與來信，並感謝他為球隊做出的貢獻與犧牲。同時
Rui也給了與他在隊中為競爭對手的卡卡一些話：「當我還在為先發位置努力時，一個才22
歲的小伙子向我尋求建議是最令人感到開心的事。」此外，俱樂部以及球迷們一直重複著
「Manuel，你決不能離開這兒」的話語對Rui而言也是最令人驚喜並感動的。
