也許當馬爾蒂尼或是billy退役之後，加圖索也就是米蘭榮耀的臂章的下一任繼承者。
記者Dominique Antognoni將為我們揭開這位中場鬥士的發動機究竟是什麼？

: IS IT TRUE THAT MALDINI AND COSTACURTA CHANGED YOU AS A PLAYER?

是不是馬爾蒂尼和billy將你調教成一為真正的球員？

: I remember making a horrible gesture towards Ronaldo in the Milan
: derby of 1998. Someone like me, who had only just arrived at the San Siro,
: shouldn't do things like that. I often see that sort of thing and it
: shames me to think I was once like that. Billy and Paolo changed me.
: They made me a calmer person.(就是說他以前比現在暴躁百倍嘍)

我永遠記得在1998年米蘭德比時，我對羅那爾多比了一個可怕的手勢(？指)。
像我這樣一個剛轉會到米蘭的球員其實不應該做這種行為。再那時，我常常衝動行事
現在回想起來我感到非常的慚愧。馬爾蒂尼和biily教了我許多，他們幫助我成為一個
好的球員，他們讓我成為一個更冷靜的球員。


: YOU HAVE NEVER HAD THE BEST IMAGE IN ITALY.

你似乎在義大利沒有好的印象？

: Maybe, but abroad I am quite highly regarded. If only you knew how
: many teams enquired about my services. I'm used to the criticism now
: anyway. It doesn't bother me. I just get on with my job.

也許吧。但是在國外時，我還是十分搶手。如果你知道國外有很多球隊對我很感興趣。
在過去我常受到批評，但是這些並不會影響到我。我只想做好我的工作。

: BUT EVEN YOU HAVE SAID THAT WHEN YOU'RE VOTED MAN OF THE MATCH
: SOMETHING IS WRONG.

但是你也曾說過當你是單場表現最佳球員時，表示球隊踢的問題。 

: I said that because when a team is built to continually attack with so
: many skiful players like Milan, and the best man on the field turns out
: to be a combative midfielder, then something's not right.

我這樣說是因為當一支球隊有著許多優秀技術型球員(像是米蘭)並且採取主攻，
但是最佳球員竟然是一個防守中場，那麼表示球隊的踢法有問題。


: DID YOU HAVE AN IDOL WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?

小時候有沒有崇拜的偶像？

: Salvatore Bagni. Now though it's Edgar Davids. (!!!)
: He can provide cover for the team all by himself. People say I'm like
: Giuseppe Furino who played for Juventus 1970s.

現在則是Edgar Davids，他自已可以為全隊提供的掩護。
人們說我像1970年代尤文的Giuseppe Furino。


: HAS THERE BEEN A COACH WHO HAS STOOD OUT FOR YOU IN YOUR CAREER

在你職業生涯中，有沒有哪一位教練是全力支持你的？ 

: Alberto Zaccheroni taught me the importance of daily training.

Alberto Zaccheroni他教導我每天練習的重要性。

: IS THAT WHY ALL YOU DO IS TRAIN AND THEN GO HOME?

這就是為什麼你每天做的事就是練習和回家？

: I go out very little. Because of the way I play, it is important that
: I recharge my batteries as often as possible. To tell the truth,
: when I get home from Milanello I put on my pyjamas straight away.

我很少出去。因為我踢球的方式的關係，我必須盡可能補充我的體力。
說句老實話，當我從內洛回到家時，我只穿睡衣。

: WHO HAS BEEN THE MOST DIFFICULT OPPONENT YOU HAVE COME UP AGAINST?

你面對過最頑強的對手？

: Without a doubt Lamberto Zauli. He would always get around me.
: Thank goodness he is playing with Palermo in Serie B now.

毫無疑問的是Lamberto Zauli，他總是能輕易擺脫我。
謝天謝地，他現在在意乙打球。


: EXPLAIN TO US HOW YOUR CAREER BEGAN.

可以談談你如何開始踢球的嗎？

: At the age of 13, I used to train on the beach. There were no football
: pitches around at the time. Perugia President Luciano Gaucci convinced
: my family that i should try out for I Grifoni. My father had no doubt
: that it was my duty to go and at least try. I progressed through the youth
: system and eventually my first team moment arrived under then Coach
: Nevio Scala. I played eight games. Perugia were waiting for 10 before
: offering me a professional contract, but at that point Glasgow Rangers
: had already offered me a very lucrative four-year deal.
: What would you have done in my situation?

在我13歲的時候，我總是在板凳上練習，在那時，附近沒有球場。
佩魯甲的主席Luciano Gaucci說服我的父母我應該出去闖闖。
我的父親認為我應該試一試。
我通過青年隊培訓系統然後進入主隊，我當時的教練是Nevio Scala。
我打了8場比賽後，佩魯甲要等到我踢滿10場才願意與簽合同，但是那時Glasgow Rangers
隊願意提供我一紙優渥的4年合約，如果你是我，你會怎麼做？


: HOW WAS YOUR SCOTTISH EXPERIENCE?

你在蘇格蘭的經歷如何？

: With Rangers I became a real footballer. At Perugia I was afraid to
: give my all.

在Rangers隊時，我才真正成為一個球員，在佩魯甲時，我總害怕盡全力去踢球。 

: WHAT WAS THE ATMOSPHERE LIKE?

那是怎樣的感覺？

: It was all you needed to get motivated. Once Walter Smith - the coach
: at the time- made the mistake of over-motivating me for the derby.
: I ended up getting sent off in the first minute.

就好像你只需要一個刺激。
但是那時的教練Walter Smith在德比前給了我太多的刺激，結果，我刺激過頭在比賽的
第一分鐘就被送出場。

: ARE THE REFEREES IN BRITAIN MORE LENIENT THAN THEIR ITALIAN COUNTERPARTS?

英國的裁判員尺度比義大利的寬鬆嗎？

: I recently saw Aston Villa-Birmingham on television. If an Italian referee
: had been in charge of that game, both sides would have ended with five
: men on the pitch. There needs to be a happy medium between the two leagues.

我最近看了Aston Villa和Birmingham的比賽，那場比賽如果是義大利裁判去的話，
可能場上最後只剩5個球員。兩個聯賽的教練各有優缺，如果截長補短最佳。


: BACK TO THE ROSSONERI. YOU ALWAYS TALK WELL OF MILAN PRESIDENT
: SILVIO BERLUSCONI.

回到米蘭來，你總是非常讚美你們的主席SILVIO BERLUSCONI。 

: He is a true President. He doesn't just say five words to you in passing to
: make you happy. He remembers all the players' birthdays, names of their
: children, parents and partners. He is incredible.

他是一位真正的主席。他不會只在遇見你的時候說幾句官話來讓你高興。
他記得所有球員的生日，球員家人的名字，不管是你的孩子、父母、和妻子。
他太棒了。

: AND WHAT ABOUT THE NATIONAL TEAM?

那國家隊呢？ 

: At times you just want to give everyting up. I am the type of player who
: isn't protected by anyone when criticised. A lot of the time I must
: shoulder the blame for incidents that are unjustifiably accredited to me.
: I am tired of it all. Nobody had ever defended me at international level,
: even though I have always given 100 percent.
: (嗯...還是米蘭最溫暖了)

有時候，你只想放棄任何事情。
當我遭受批評時，沒有人會站出來為我說話，來保護我。
有很多時候，我必須去擔負起很多責難，而那些錯誤卻並不在我身上。
我對國家隊已經受夠了。
沒有人會護衛我為我說話，即使我已經盡了我的全力在踢球。
