Playing side by side with of veteran Paolo Maldini everybody would cut a poor
figure, but he doesn't. Alessandro Nesta, who has been improving his condition
and performance game by game, has once again impressed for his good clearances
and his quick reflexes. He is the one who gives instructions to his colleagues
about their display in the back line; he is the last man in the box to defend
Dida and his goal from the breaks of the opponents. Also against Roma Nesta
stood out, as he never made mistakes and his clearance to block a Tommasi
shot on goal was godsent. He was just forced out by a blow he picked up on his
knee. Alessandro, behind the captain and Dida, is the Rossonero who has played
the most in the Serie A, totalling 2332 minutes in 27 games. A physical and
psychological energy which Nesta unleashes in every action: 'After the game
against Ajax last Wednesday it was hard to recover our strenghts, we had spent
too much in the Champions League,' he said after the final whistle. 'We came
here with tired legs, but we didn't do badly before Roma goal. We could have
even scored with Shevchenko. If we had been more brilliant, who knows how it
would have ended. Every game is different from the others, what really counts
is the attitude on the pitch. We want to do well, we don't give up on any
front.'
總是克盡職守

，但是內斯塔精采的表現卻是昨天比賽中少數的亮點。根據統計，米蘭球員聯賽上場時
數中，內斯塔排名第三(僅次於馬隊和迪達，在27場比賽中上場2332分鐘)，即使如此，
內斯塔仍然再他每一次演出中展現他驚人的體力和精神力。
他再昨天賽後接受訪問時表示：
〝在星期三打完冠軍盃對AJAX的比賽後，我們的狀態很難從短陣的時間復原，我們在冠軍
盃聯賽中消耗太多體力。我們帶著疲憊的雙腿來到羅馬，但是在羅馬進球之前，我們的
表現仍然中規中矩，甚至舍瓦還一度逼近破門。如果我們有體力更積極一些，誰知道最
後的結果會如何？每場比賽都是一個全新的挑戰，重要的是我們看待比賽的態度。我們
想要表現出我們的最好，我們永遠不會放棄任何超前的機會。〞
