Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko admits that he missed Milan and calcio when
he was at Chelsea and he wants to win back the Milan fans by doing his best
on the pitch...
The Ukrainian striker scored his first goal since his return from Chelsea in
the 1-0 win over Zurich on Thursday and Rossoneri fans were delighted as the
hit-man showed the form which made him an idol at the club.
Sheva is now hoping to keep up his good work as he tries to win back the fans
he lost during his two year stint at the Blues.
The striker admits that he missed calcio while he was in England.
"Everyone was so happy after the game against Zurich and my team mates and
coach made me so many compliments. The players wanted me to score and they
did all they could and the goal came at the right moment," Shevchenko told
La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"The environment here at Milan is fantastic and you live well here.
I have been working really hard in training and I know that I still need to
work hard to get back on form."
"I was away from here for two years and now I need to win back the fans.
The Milan faithful have always been so passionate towards me.
The goal in Zurich is just the start and I am going to do my best to win them
back."
"I have missed calcio in these past two years and I have grown even more hungry
and the will to win and play for the team is more than ever."
The striker will be hoping he finds the net when Milan travel to struggling
Cagliari on Sunday night. The Rossoneri have returned to form following a shaky
start to the season and they are on the right track to hunt for the Scudetto.
