Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino admits he learned a lot from Pippo Inzaghi
during his three years with Milan.
The 27-year-old has returned to form since leaving the Rossoneri in 2008 and
looks set for a good goal scoring tally this year, having already hit the net
nine times in Serie A this season.
"I have certainly taken something from Pippo on the pitch, but
I don't have the same hair dresser" Gilardino joked while at an event organised
by Florence's Rotary Club.
Gila then revealed why he believes he has become such a prolific centre-forward.
"Paolo Rossi scored five goals on my birthday, July 5. I always remember it
with pleasure."
Later, he turned his attention to family life.
"I am a full-time father when I am at home. I am often away between training
and matches and my principal desire is to be at home with the family."
Finally, Gilardino reflected on Fiorentina's two victories over Liverpool
earlier this season.
"They were two different games. In the first match there were many motivations
because we had never met such a strong team and we usually find it difficult
to make mistakes when we are that motivated."
"In the second game in Liverpool we went there with nothing to lose. We had
the desire to play a great game in front of 3,000 of our fans, capping a truly
great game," he concluded.
