Abbiati Set For Milan Return?

Following Dida's blunder in the Coppa Italia match against Roma, the
Brazilian's future with the Rossoneri has been put in doubt especially since
no contract renewal has been signed as of yet.

Many transfer rumours have been flying around Milan in the past weeks
especially for who will be the goaltender next season. The main candidates
remain Gianluigi Buffon and Marco Amelia, but another 'new' name has emerged
in the past hours: Christian Abbiati.

The Torino goalkeeper could make a shock return to the squad who let him go a
year and a half ago to Juventus, preferring Kalac as backup to Dida. However,
the Rossoneri could go back on their decision to offer Dida a new contract
following many unconvincing displays by the Brazilian player, and instead
bring back home Abbiati who has done extremely well with the Bianconeri last
year and Torino this season.

Still, the Abbiati solution will only occur if the real transfer target,
Buffon, fails to materialize itself, and even in that case Livorno's Amelia
would still be in the driver's seat. A lot will be revealed in the coming
months, for the time being, the Rossoneri fans will still have to watch Dida
defender the Milan goalposts.
