A NEW CHAPTER
The extension of Fernando Redondo's contract with Milan confirms the sensitiv-
ity of both parts involved in the deal and marks a turning point. The Argentin-
ian maestro is no more in balance, his long suffering is behind and he will st-
ay at the club until June 2004. From now onwards a new chapter of his life beg-
ins. We won't read any more about injuries, surgeries and recovery schedules.
It was all concerning the player who was struggling in order to be back into
action as soon as possible and who warned people to be cautious about his con-
ditions after his first outings in the Coppa Italia. Everything is over. Now
Fernando is what he has always aimed at being considered: a Milan player, an
asset of the club at the coach's disposal like his team-mates.Ready to take the
pitch, despite temperature, as in Moskow; ready to get up after a tackle, when
his fans have their breath taken away. Redondo wants to show what he is able
through his football in order to repay himself, the officials and the supporte-
rs, in a word Milan.
