 'REDONDO IS FOOTBALL' 

  With these words Carlo Ancelotti told about Fernando Redondo's call-up for
the game against Empoli. However, the Argentine is unlikely to take the pitch
on Sunday: his long-awaited debut in a Rossonero shirt will be put off until
Tuesday. Redondo must be played at Ancona in the first leg of the Coppa Italia
 round of sixteen. After two years out of the game, his return on the pitch
will be greeted by optimism and relief at the club. For Milan supporters Redo-
ndo is no more a dream but truth. Memories remark a singular coincidence: on
May 9, 1993 at Ancona Marco Van Basten scored his last goal in a Rossonero
shirt after 39 minutes. At the end of that season the Hollander was actually
forced to retirement at the only age of 29 years old. On the pitch where the
Rossonero fans lost one of their stars they could find another one back on
Tuesday: Redondo. 'I joined Milan two years ago to make my contribution and
this is still my goal. I must thank this great club who have always supported
me. I feel as when I made my debut at 15 years old: an unbelievable emotion'
