MALDINI ABOUT THE POLL: 'I didn't expect such a result'

MILAN – In the poll acmilan.com suggested in past few days (Would you like
Paolo Maldini to join Baresi, Rivera and Van Basten in the best Rossoneri of
the Centenary?), 96 per cent of voters agreed. A plebiscite which has pleased
Milan captain who often visits internet websites (and also acmilan.com): 'I was
very happy with the outcome of the poll, the love of people has always been
very important. I knew many supporters would have their say, but I didn't
imagine such a result'.

在acmilan.com舉行的投票(你認為Paolo Maldini可以像巴雷西、裏維拉、范巴斯騰一樣列
入米蘭百年最佳紅黑軍的人選裡嗎？)中，96％的人贊成。一個讓馬隊感到高興的投票，他
說：「他對投票的結果感到高興，因為球迷的愛永遠是重要的，我知道很多支持者都會投
票，但我沒想到會是這樣的結果。」

MALDINI: 'This team was born from the fourth spot'

MILAN – 2002 was a special year for Paolo Maldini. He started it with a injury
he picked up at Bergamo on December 19, 2001, but ended it very well.

2002年對馬隊而言是特別的一年，因為他是以受傷開始的，但卻有一個好的結束。

'Only twelve months have passed, but it seems far back in the past. Last season
Milan suffered many injuries, but the team was competitive. Of course with the
new signings we could further improve our quality'.

只是經過了12個月，但是感覺卻像過了很久。上個賽季米蘭受到很多傷病的困擾，但仍是
很有競爭力的一支隊伍，當然隨著簽約新的隊員，我們更可以提高我們的素質。

Maldini points out that 'if we hadn't reached the fourth spot last season,
after bounching back from several defeats, now we couldn't have had such a
first-rate team. Today's team was born from the fourth spot and the
qualification to the Champions League, after defeating Slovan Liberec in the
preliminaries'.

馬隊指出，如果上個賽季我們沒有取得聯賽第四名的位置，在經過幾次失敗後我們不會有
這樣一流的球隊。今天的隊伍是從聯賽第四名和冠軍盃的資格賽中誕生的。

'As we joined in the most important European competition, the club could sign
Nesta who improved our defence. Redondo's recovery and Leonardo's return will
be very useful for the rest of the season'.

當我們加入重要的歐洲賽場時，俱樂部才能簽下Nesta以增強我們的後防，而東哥的復原
和Leo的回歸，都將對剩下的賽季有很大的助益。

MALDINI: 'Milan are determined, we can win everything'

MILAN – Nobody imagined such a growth at Milan. Also Carlo Ancelotti was
surprised and now wishes the positive run to continue in the next six months.
Paolo Maldini agrees: 'We must resume playing with the same winning attitude of
our start of the season, both in our Serie A and Champions League campaign.
What would I choose between them? I can't exclude one of our goals a priori,
we have never done it even in the past. We always play to win and go through to
the end, Milan have the possibilities to do it in every competitions'.

沒有人可以想像米蘭的成長，包括安導都感到驚喜，他希望米蘭可以在未來的六個月裡保
持下去，而馬隊也同意，他說：「我們必須以賽季初相同的求勝態度繼續比賽，包括聯賽
和冠軍盃。要我選擇其中一個，我沒有辦法選擇，因為我們過去從來沒有這樣做過。我們

Paolo Maldini wants to remark their merits also before the start of the Serie
A: 'It was not an easy pre-season for us: Ancelotti had to combine a new group,
there were some new-comers and also the template was different. After some
defeats we could have lost heart, but on the contrary we were able to go on,
showing our character'.

馬隊還談到聯賽開始前的狀況，他說：「賽季前的情況對我們而言並不容易，因為來了幾
個新的隊員，安導必須要融合一支新的隊伍。在幾場比賽的失利之後，我們喪失了精神，
但是相反的我們卻能一直走下去，顯示了我們的特質，」

MALDINI: 'Inter are the most cynical competitors, but also Juve'

MILAN – In his exclusive interview with the Milan Channel, Paolo Maldini
reviews Milan's competitors for the Scudetto, starting from Inter who share the
top of the Serie A with the Rossoneri: 'They are the team I fear most because
they are the most cynical. Also when they make mistakes, they are always able
to do about it thanks to the quality of their players'.

在米蘭頻道的專訪中，馬隊評論了幾支聯賽冠軍的競爭隊伍，他首先談到Inter，他認為他
最害怕Inter，雖然他們常受到批評，但是他們球員的優秀表現，仍然讓他們取得了好成績
。

'The same is with Juventus', the captain goes on. 'They showed a good football
at times. They are just behind us, but they could never count on Trezeguet,
Tudor and Montero. They will be dangerous as well'.

A last word is for Lazio: 'After the Olimpico 1-1 draw with Milan last
September, someone said that we had missed a good chance to make the three
points. I objected that everybody would had it difficult agaisnt Mancini's
side. And then we had our result re-evaluated. We can't predict where they will
go, due to the financial crisis at their club, but they have already done a
miracle to reach the spot where they are'.

他最後提到了拉奇奧，在奧林匹克1-1被踢平之後，有人說我們失去了一個很好可以取得三
分的機會，但我認為每個人在遭遇曼奇尼的隊伍時都會遇到困難。雖然因為財務危機我們
沒有辦法預測他們可以走多遠，但是他們現在在聯賽的位置卻已創造了一個奇蹟。

   The praise of Adriano Galliani ('The player who excites me more is Paolo Ma-
ldini: he is out of the world, when I joined Milan he was already first-teamer
and he is still there with his determination and good condition') and the trib-
ute of a prestigious paper as L'Equipe which included Paolo Maldini in their
2002 Dream Team make the good spell of Milan captain even more fantastic. At
Milanello his good performances in Milan Lab tests are no more surprising ('He
is better now than four or five years ago, his biological age is inferior to
his real one', said club medical officer Meerssemann) but outside Carnago's
complex it's hardly believed that after so many fights, trophies, records and
seasons (he is at his 19th in the Serie A) he can still play and do well like
he does. The captain is brilliant when he works the ball and stops the opponents
. In the last few months he has also reinforced his role inside the team: he is
the critical conscience, calling the Rossoneri to their responsibilities in the
 interviews and shouting on the pitch, when Milan are losing control of the
situation. This is Paolo Maldini. A hammer, in the heart of the defence, in the
 heart of Milan.

   在內洛，馬爾蒂尼在米蘭實驗室的測驗結果不能讓我們更驚訝了（他甚至比四、五年
前的狀況還好，他的生理年紀遠年輕於他實際的～米蘭實驗室主任Meeressemann如是說）
。但在米蘭情結之外，這很難相信再經歷過這麼多對抗、獎盃、紀錄和賽季（馬隊這個賽
季是他在意甲的第十九年）之後，他能可以和做得像他現在這樣。隊長在他踢球和阻擋對
