Dida – 7.5:
The Brazilian keeper had three or four efforts to deal with in the opening
half, including one from Lavezzi on 36 minutes in particular. He dealt with
them well, however he did look a little shaky at times, most notably in the
second half, when he fumbled what looked to be a routine save from a Zalayeta
effort after 72 minutes of play.
Zambrotta – 6.0:
The right back was a little clumsy at times, including once on 25 minutes
when he was easily dispossessed in the middle by Mannini, a period of play
that led to an opportunity for the Napoli midfielder. He failed to be a
dominant force when moving forward as well.
Maldini – 7.5:
Fantastic performance by the captain tonight, as he completely nullified the
impact of Zalayeta and Lavezzi throughout the entirety of the match. He was
certainly the pick of the back four, raising the question: should he go on
for one more year, with Champions League football on the Milan agenda next
season?
Favalli – 7.0:
Worked well alongside his captain at the back, as the two veterans made
light work of their opposing attackers. He was substituted midway through
the second half however, as he was replaced by Senderos.
Jankulovski – 6.5:
Worked hard as always at both ends of the park. Did well defensively, however
his balls in to the area when in attack were a little inaccurate at times.
Beckham – 6.5:
Looked comfortable alongside Pirlo once again. He was great in the first
half, as his passing and crossing ability was spot on. His impact decreased
as the match wore on though.
Pirlo – 7.0:
Looked confident to run at opponents all night. He brought his team mates
in to the match, with a number of fantastic balls, and by controlling the
play for his side. He showed glimpses of the Pirlo of old tonight.
Flamini – 6.5:
Will be happy to get another 90 minutes under his belt for the Rossoneri.
The former Arsenal man worked hard all match, and failed to put a foot
wrong throughout.
Seedorf – 6.0:
Had Milan’s best chance of the first half, when his powerful strike from
distance was well dealt with by Navarro on 31 minutes, however he didn't
too much else worth noting. He was replaced by Kaka early in the second
half as a result.
Pato – 7.0:
Was undoubtedly his side’s most dangerous player when in possession of
the ball, as he always looked threatening when running at his opponents.
He didn’t have many chances to score, however he did provide some great
assists for others to test their luck in front of goal.
Inzaghi – 5.5:
The Italian hitman is well known for his ability to be caught offside on
a number of occasions, and tonight was no exception. Pippo was in an
offside position too many times tonight, which consequently minimised his
impact, and led to his substitution moments after the hour mark.
