Milan have confirmed that Ronaldo will have a medical on Friday after the
Real Madrid player arrived in the Italian city this evening.

The Brazilian touched down at Linate airport just after eight o’clock local
time which have confirmed reports that he is on the verge of completing a
move to the Rossoneri.

The South American will now undergo a physical at MilanLab before the Italian
club look to finalise details with the Spanish giants at the start of next
week.

“Thanks to the generosity of [Real] President [Ramon] Calderon, Ronaldo –
 who is still a Real Madrid player – will have a medical at Milanello
tomorrow," said Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

“If everything goes well then I will fly to Madrid on Monday to conclude the
negotiations with Real.

“I would also like to thank [Milan] President [Silvio] Berlusconi because
Ronaldo wouldn’t be here without his approval.

“Berlusconi, seeing as he is the President and therefore the first Milan
fan, is hoping that Ronaldo will join us.”

It is still unclear how much Ronaldo will cost the club, but it is thought to
be somewhere in the region of ￡4m to ￡6m.

Galliani also hit back at Inter President Massimo Moratti who has been
critical of the likely switch given the former Barcelona player’s Nerazzurri
past.

“This isn’t the first time that a player has left Inter for Milan, I’m
thinking of Clarence Seedorf, Andrea Pirlo, Cristian Brocchi…

“Anyway, Ronaldo is not an Inter player and hasn’t been for four years.
This move is one from Real to Milan, not Inter to Milan.”

Ronaldo will get a close look at his probable new teammates as he is expected
in the crowd for Milan’s Coppa Italia tie against Roma later this evening.
