Carlo Ancelotti is forced to change his tactics after a spate of injuries,
but refuses to outline his new system to face Modena.
"I could choose to play with one upfront, either Jon Dahl Tomasson or Marco
Borriello, or opt for two strikers. I can confirm," he joked, "that we'll
start with eleven players."
The Rossoneri boss was publicly ordered to play with two forwards by President
Silvio Berlusconi and had until now agreed to this system.
With Andriy Shevchenko out, Kaka' and Marcos Cafu in need of rest after flying
back from international duty in Brazil and Pippo Inzaghi not 100 per cent fit,
Ancelotti could break away from his club orders.
"We are right in the middle of the most crucial part of the campaign,"
explained the Coach. "Our objective is to keep our opponents as far away as
possible and that is why we must concentrate only on beating Modena rather than
preserving energy for future games."
Most pundits believe that the Scudetto is already in Milan's hands, but
Ancelotti is hesitant as he approaches his first ever title as a Coach.
"I honestly don't feel in a hurry to seal the Scudetto, because we know it will
be a long hard slog. We also realise that the path to the title is shorter than
it is for others right now, but we must not rush it and risk wavering."
The Rossoneri are also on track for the Champions' League semi-finals, but
their manager insists they can still improve.
"In general our first half performances are average and we rarely up the tempo
in that opening 45 minutes. We want to change this trend, even if that means
less spectacular second half outings."
