Nesta 'ready for quarter-finals' Saturday 24 June, 2006
Alessandro Nesta’s World Cup is not over and, although he’ll miss the
Australia match, he could recover in time for the potential quarter-final date.
The Milan defender limped off during the opening stages of Thursday’s 2-0
victory over the Czech Republic with a recurring groin problem.
內斯塔的世界杯尚未結束，雖然他會缺席對澳大利亞的比賽，但是若義大利挺進前四強，
他將有望上場。這位米蘭的後衛在星期二對捷克的比賽中，因為舊傷複發，一開場不久
就下場了。
Tests were completed this morning and Italy doctor Enrico Castellacci confirmed
the injury was not as serious as some had feared.
今早所有的測試都完成了，而義大利的隊醫也表示傷勢並沒有想像中的嚴重。
“There are no large bruises,” he explained. “Obviously he won’t play
against Australia, but we are trying to get him back to full fitness as soon as
possible. We’re optimistic.”

There were originally concerns that he could be out of action for up to 15
days, which would effectively end his World Cup participation.

However, although he’ll skip Monday’s match with the Socceroos, it’s likely
he would be ready if Italy reached the quarter-finals on June 30.

It’s believed that Marco Materazzi, who replaced Nesta against the Czechs and
scored the opening goal, will step in to the centre of the Azzurri defence.
而馬特拉齊，在捷克的比賽中替補內斯塔上場，並為義大利帶來第一顆進球，也將會
會代替內斯塔與卡納瓦羅搭檔義大利的中衛防線。
