AIESEC History
AIESEC成立於1948年, 就在二次世界大戰之後
戰爭的可怕和無情, 使人體會到和平的重要和可貴
七個來自比利時、芬蘭、荷蘭、挪威及瑞典的學生, 大家齊集在瑞典的斯德哥爾摩, 開始思考要如何才能讓這個世界更好, 為什麼會有戰爭的發生? 身為學生的我們能做些什麼呢?
如果我們能更包容不同的文化和不同的價值觀, 戰爭是否就可以避免?
如果我們讓全世界的人都變成朋友, 是不是就不容易有戰爭?
這就是AIESEC的第一步, 也是AIESEC當初創立的最原始的想法, 透過了解彼此, 學習尊重彼此的文化, 打破種族間的隔閡, 才能消弭戰爭的陰影。
在這次的會議當中, 除了決定成立的宗旨, 也決定了每年要定期舉行一次國際會議外, 同時也決定了AIESEC的章程和原則 : AIESEC為一獨立的、非政治性的國際學生組織, 其主要在藉著交換學生來增進國際間的互相了解及會員間的友誼；會員應提供研究資訊、安排訓練計劃, 並對交換學生提供協助等。
1949年 第一次AIESEC交換計劃有89位學生參加
1949年 五年內幾乎所有西歐國家迅速加入AIESEC
1954年 首度擴展至西歐以外的國家(土耳其、希臘、以色列), 並開始和其
他國際團體(JCI UNESCO)展開交流活動
1957年 隨著美國的加入, 使AIESEC首度跨越到大西洋
1958年 哥倫比亞及委內瑞拉及南非獲准加入, 更是跨出歐洲一大步
1963年 AIESEC的步伐終於延伸至亞太地區, 日本入會使AIESEC真正成為一全球性的學生組織
發展至今50年, 我們一共有87個會員國(MC), 730個分會(Local Committee), 是世界上最大的非營利學生社團, 並且以每三星期增加一個大學分會, 每八個月增加一個國家總會的速度成長著。這意謂著, 至今地球上有超過四十萬以上的人曾是AIESEC的成員, 每一萬二千五佰人中, 就有一人是AIESECers呦 !
Young, professional, progressive, innovative and global. AIESEC (pronounced eye-sec) is the world's largest student-managed, non-profit educational organisation. Since our creation in 1948, we have been dedicated to helping young people around the globe develop themselves and their countries. Our focus is on developing individuals who can impact on society; we do this by involving people in unique exchange programmes and related projects.
The process of exchanging young people around the world is the core of what we do - we believe that the best way to develop future leadership is to let people experience the challenges of culture, society, and management for themselves. Underlying everything we do is a drive to make a positive contribution to society.
Today, with more than 50,000 members, most of whom are undergraduates who voluntarily give their service while attending university, we are active in 730 academic institutions in 87 countries.
We enjoy working partnerships with a wide variety of companies, as well as with non-government and government organisations.
All of AIESEC's activity occurs at the local level - which makes the Local Committee the most important management unit in AIESEC.
Local Committees operate at over 730 Universities around the world, often being managed like small business units. Each Local Committee has a President and an Executive Board who co-ordinate AIESEC's exchange activities in the area.
AIESEC is managed like many other global organisations - with local branches that are supported by national and international Executive Boards.
AIESEC is entirely student run, and is proud of the fact that such a dynamic and diverse organisation can be managed by young people from so many different parts of the world.
