Sarasota, FL (Sports Network) - Second-seeded Russian Anastasia Myskina handled
unseeded Aussie Alicia Molik on Sunday to win the $140,000 Sarasota Clay Court
Classic.
The 21-year-old Myskina posted a 6-4, 6-1 victory to secure her fourth career
title, as she improved to 4-3 in her career finals, including 2-0 this season.
The Russian titled on hardcourt in Qatar in February.
The world No. 11 Myskina earned $22,000, while the 22-year-old world No. 71
Molik claimed $12,000 as the runner-up on the green clay here at The Meadows
Country Club.
Molik is now 1-1 in her career finals, with both coming this year. She titled
at an Australian Open tune-up in Hobart, Australia back in January.
