The recognition governments between Taiwan and Japan There are some legal problems of only one Chine in the relation at present. In the past Taiwan and Beijing disagreed about which government legitimately represented China. For years, the United States and most other countries recognized Taiwan (Nationalist China, the Republic of China) as the legitimate government of all China, and Taiwan held the China seat in the United Nations. Over time, though, most countries shifted their diplomatic recognition to Beijing. The UN seated Beijing's representative and, in effect, expelled Taiwan's in 1972; Washington shifted its recognition to the mainland in 1978. Still, Taiwan has continued to exist independently, even though, in essence, it had become a vague diplomatic entity. Japan has had much relation with Taiwan, but we have not given the official recognition significantly because of international politics probably. Then the principal of one China had been gradually accepted by the major part of the community. So the legal position of Taiwan as part of China has apparent to be definitive, legally but incompletely. By the way,we are good students perhaps, who are studying international law. So we suggest that we each other discuss the recognition of Taiwan's government in the situation of ourselves governments with the view of international law.
