Francesco Totti Scores 179th Roma Goal To Overtake Giampiero Boniperti
'Il Capitano' keeps on climbing the scoring charts...
Roma captain Francesco Totti has moved into ninth place on the all-time Serie
A goalscorers list, after the 32-year-old scored his 179th goal for the
Giallorossi on the weekend.
Totti overtook Juventus great Giampiero Boniperti when he scored against
Genoa on the first day of the season, but even that wasn't enough to prevent
Roma from losing 3-2.
It was a spot kick on the last day of the 2008-09 championship against Torino
that saw Totti equal Boniperti.
Next in the Roman's sights is Gabriel Batistuta, who scored 184 goals during
his illustrious career at Fiorentina and Roma.
