US Open champion Samantha Stosur to join top tennis women in Singapore

美網冠軍Samantha Stosu將參加新加坡女網賽

SINGAPORE - Local tennis fans are in for an early Christmas treat this
December, when top tennis names like WTA's newly-crowned US Open champion
Samantha Stosur (Australia), Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland (world No 13),
China's Peng Shuai (No 15) and Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia (No 19) make
their way here for the Singapore Women's Tennis Exhibition from Dec 16 to 18.

今年12月16-18日將有一場女網表演賽 參加者包括新任美網冠軍Samantha Stosur, 來自波
蘭的Agnieszka Radwanska, 中國的彭帥 以及俄羅斯的Svetlana Kuznetsova

Six of the best in the women's game will feature at the Singapore Indoor
Stadium during the three-day exhibition tournament, with the remaining two
players to be confirmed soon. But the biggest draw will be world No 7 Stosur,
who defeated American Serena Williams earlier this month to claim her first
Grand Slam title.

在為期三天的賽程中 將有六位網球好手齊聚新加坡室內球場展開表演賽 剩下兩位球員目
前還在確認中 不過已確定的是 本項賽事排名最高的選手將會是排名第七的Stosur

"I am looking forward to come and play in Singapore and I am sure it's going
to be an exciting event for all tennis fans in this part of Asia," said
27-year-old Stosur.

Stosur表示:很期待能到新加坡打球 對亞洲網球迷來說這將會是一項精彩的活動

The top two seeded women will earn an automatic spot into the semi-finals in
Singapore, with the rest competing in two qualifying rounds. Organised by the
Michezo Group, the tournament will also feature other activities such as a
juniors clinic, community events and a charity gala dinner with the tennis
stars.

在這項活動中 排名最高的兩位球員將自動晉級到四強賽

Said Michezo Group chairman Hicham Moudden: "The vibrant sports scene here is
missing world class tennis action and we are glad that we can help fill this
gap."

Daily tickets to the Singapore Women's Tennis Exhibition are priced from S$35
