[國中] 一題複習考試題

[weiedu (誰說英語不有趣)]

這次的第五次友誠複習考出現一題與"有"相關的試題--

Susan:  The novels in that bookstore are on sale.
        Will you buy some there?
Nelson: I will if it ______ the books I like.
(A)have (B)has (C)is (D)are

這一題用刪去法不難作答,主詞是it,自然不該選(A)與(D);
選(C)則變成it is~(它是~)的句型,
起碼也該改成~it is a book...才有點樣子,不過還是錯,
所以答案自然選(B)!

問題來了,
一般我們都強調地方的"存有"要用there be表達,
"擁有"才使用have/has;
這題的it指的是that bookstore,理當不會"擁有"這些書,
用has是不是不太嚴謹?!
改成I will if there are books I like.是不是較沒爭議?


話說回來,類似題幹這樣的句子還不難看到!
如果是A minute has sixty seconds.
      =There are sixty seconds in a minute.
這樣的句子倒是可以理解,
一分鐘"擁有"或"存有"六十秒都說得通!

但是若That bookstore has the books I like.也通的話,
The school has 900 students. 或 The station has many passengers.是否也算合理?!

針對there be與have這個部分,
大家是如何講述的?
