經過十幾年了,台灣的英語教學和測驗方式還雷同於十幾年前,
這種完全以"aptitude"的導向教學已經讓我們在大學聯考TOEIC和IBT
的檢定考試看到成果了。難道當老師的我們不用去想我們教學背後給學生帶來的訊息?
一味的講解文法與結構去忽略到英文和生活當中的連結,什麼叫做從學生的角度去教學?
就拿英文句子的inversion為例,學生連基本句法概念都尚未能應用到寫作上
就考一大堆奇怪的inversion. I guess one may intend to make students
abhor the very thought of English. I have to say "structures" are substantial
,but are these structures meaningful to students? Are they able to feel
connected? English, unlike any other subject matter, is a practical and learnable
one. I truly doubt why some of us would make it so "hideous" and detached to
students' lives. Of course, opinions may vary individually. Just my personal
thinking.
